San Diego County Receives $1.4 Million Cannabis Equity Grant

San Diego County has been awarded $1,413,134 through the Cannabis Equity Grants Program for Local Jurisdictions, funded by the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). The grant aims to support individuals disproportionately affected by cannabis-related criminalization and economic hardship.

Cal Consulting Project Manager Maria Sokol and San Diego County administrators wrote the winning application, which seeks to remove barriers and expand opportunities for equity applicants and licensees in the legal cannabis industry. By addressing systemic inequalities, the program helps local governments provide critical resources to those seeking to enter the regulated market.
