Roland Serna serves as San Diego Associate for California Consulting, where he works with public agencies and community partners to identify strategic funding opportunities and strengthen relationships that support community growth throughout California. He is passionate about helping cities and organizations access resources that enhance infrastructure, public services, and economic development.
Roland earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in Sustainability, from San Diego State University. His academic background helped shape his strong interest in public policy, government operations, and the political economy—areas that continue to guide his professional approach.
He has gained valuable experience working with elected officials, including San Diego County Supervisor Joel Anderson and California State Senator Scott Peters. In these roles, Roland represented their offices at community and government events, engaging with constituents, public officials, and community leaders. These experiences provided him with a strong understanding of government at multiple levels and the importance of responsive, community-centered leadership.
Roland is especially committed to fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors, believing that partnerships between businesses, government agencies, and community organizations are essential to creating vibrant and resilient communities.
Outside of work, Roland enjoys spending time with friends and family, writing and producing music, playing tennis, and exploring his passion for cooking.
