Helen Hua is a Senior Client Associate with California Consulting. As a multifaceted leader and strategist with a career spanning nonprofit leadership, special projects consulting, and business startup collaborations across diverse sectors, Helen has held executive leadership positions at the BizFed Institute, a leading business policy institute and educational arm of both the Central Valley and Los Angeles County Business Federation groups, dedicated to empowering stakeholders for a thriving California economy, and the Rosemead Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Information Center, where she drove key initiatives in economic development, public policy advocacy, and expanding the Chamber’s programs for its members and the community. Helen is currently a nonprofit and small business consultant while launching a new venture focused on advancing services that help older adults and seniors “age in place” with dignity, independence, and wellness.
Helen brings extensive experience in fundraising, program development, stakeholder engagement, event production, and strategic marketing campaigns across various media platforms. Some current and past affiliations include AAPI LEAD, the Asian Pacific American Leadership Foundation (APALF), the Chinatown Business Improvement District, Five Acres, the Go For Broke National Education Center, STAR Education, and LPL Financial Services. Her unconventional background also includes stints as a deputy campaign manager, LEGO robotics instructor, vocalist with multiple bands, and a volleyball coach.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Helen has a long-standing commitment to community service and cultural advocacy. She has served on the boards of various organizations, including the Asian Professional Exchange (APEX), BizFed, Project by Project Los Angeles, and University of the West, and has been actively involved in initiatives supporting small businesses, youth empowerment, and Asian American & Pacific Islander representation in the arts. For nearly two decades, Helen has led walking tours in Los Angeles Chinatown, sharing her passion for its rich history, culture, and evolving landscape. A proud USC Trojan, Helen continues to champion community development and innovation, embodying the ‘Fight On’ spirit of her alma mater.
