City of Albany Awarded $515,000 to Advance Cleveland Avenue Bikeway Project

The City of Albany has been awarded a $515,000 infrastructure grant from the Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) as part of its 2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). This funding supports the city’s long-term vision for safer, more connected bicycle infrastructure.

Prepared by Senior Project Manager Danielle Sotello, the successful application will fund bicycle improvements along Cleveland Avenue—a key corridor within Albany’s expanding active transportation network. The project aims to improve safety and mobility for cyclists along this high-traffic route near the city’s industrial and commercial zones.
