Adam Rush joined California Consulting as a project manager. Adam brings over 20 years of experience as a professional land use and environmental planner, managing high-level projects for cities and counties across California. Adam has written dozens of climate-related documents, including Riverside County’s Climate Action Plan and Renewable Energy Element. His additional work includes sustainable planning grants through Caltrans and the Southern California Association of Governments.
Adam is proficient in resiliency planning, climate adaptation, environmental mitigation, and greenhouse gas inventory efforts associated with short-term and long-range land use and public works projects. He has served as a project manager and, economic development consultant for over 20 years, providing environmental support services, professional land planning and design, landscape architecture, ArcGIS, and database management for municipal clients. Adam has also managed General Plan and Specific Plan Amendments, development code updates, preparation, and administration of grants. In conjunction with these professional responsibilities, Adam was elected to the first Eastvale City Council and served 8 years, as both Mayor and City Council Member, leaving politics in 2018. While on Council, Adam was a member of multiple local and state boards and commissions, including WRCOG, RCTC, SCAG, Metrolink, RCA, and Cal Cities. Adam’s expertise is writing, research, and project management.
This passion began in elementary school, when he won third place, for all of Southern California with a fictional short story about a time-traveling saber-tooth cat. The contest was sponsored by the La Brea Tar Pits, the prize was a replica of a Giant Sloth’s claw that lived during the Pleistocene period. Adam enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife of 25 years, two teenage daughters, and a younger son. The family’s favorite activity is road-tripping to National Parks, visiting nearly a dozen so far.
