California Consulting is pleased to announce the California Department of Education (CDE) 21st Century Community Learning Centers -Elementary & Middle Schools (21st CCLC) Grant has been released.

California Department of Education (CDE): 21st Century Community Learning Centers-Elementary & Middle Schools (21stCCLC) Grant

Deadline: December 21, 2016

Amount: $50,000 – $150,000 based on an allocation of $7.50 per

student per day.

Match: 0%-30% of the total grant amount requested from non-state or non-federal funds, based on the percentage of students on free or reduced priced meals at the applicant schools.

Eligible Applicants: institutions of higher education, local educational agencies, nonprofit organizations, other organizations or agencies

Required Eligibility Criteria: Public or private entities are eligible to apply for 21st Century Community Learning Centers funds provided that they propose to serve Title I schools that have school-wide programs, or a Title I school with at least 40 percent of the students eligible for Free or Reduced Price Meals and the school is 1) either in Program Improvement, or 2) been determined by the local educational agency (LEA) to be in need of intervention and support, and all programs must serve the families of students at these schools.

Funding Description: The purpose of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers(CCLC)-Elementary & Middle Schools program is to support the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers educational services to the families of participating children. Programs must operate during every regular school day and may operate during summer, weekends, intercession, or vacation periods.
