California Consulting Congratulates Holly Bachman as our new Senior Director

California Consulting is pleased to announce Holly Bachman as our new Senior Director.

Holly will supervise statewide client retention and business development and will report to the Owner

Ms. Bachman has over 16 years of in marketing, PR, events and business development including serving as a Membership Consultant since 2014 and recently Co-Chair of LA Area Chamber of Commerce’s new nonprofit council where she assists in growing membership and consults with various small, medium and large businesses and organizations in the greater community.

Holly received her B.A. in Sociology/Social Psychology from the University of Minnesota and has been living in California for the past 11 years. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching movies, attending sporting events, and most importantly giving back to the community through mentoring and organizing various local and national events that promote identity, diversity and unity. Holly is also a member of the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), University of Minnesota Alumni Association and currently resides in the Pasadena area.

FEMA: 2016  Fire Prevention & Safety (FP&S) Grant

Release: April 17, 2017

Deadline:  May 19, 2017

Amount:  Varies by project.   $34.5 Million is allocated for the entire FY2016 program cycle.

Match: 5% match  typically required

Eligibility: Fire departments; state/local/tribal volunteer fire departments

The purpose of the FP&S Program is to enhance the safety of the public and firefighters with respect to fire and fire-related hazards by assisting fire prevention programs and supporting firefighter health and safety research and development. FP&S Grants are offered to support projects in the two following activities:

  • Fire Prevention and Safety Activity: FP&S Activities are projects designed to reach high-risk target groups and mitigate the incidence of death and injuries caused by fire and fire-related hazards.  The four project categories eligible for funding under this activity are: Community Risk Reduction (formerly General Education/Awareness); Code Enforcement/Awareness; Fire & Arson Investigation; and National/State/Regional Programs and Studies.
  • Firefighter Safety Research and Development (R&D) Activity: R&D projects are aimed at improving firefighter safety, health, or wellness through research and development that reduces firefighter fatalities and injuries. The five project categories eligible for funding under this activity are: Clinical Studies; Technology and Product Development; Database System Development; Dissemination and Implementation Research; and Preliminary Studies.

Matthew Park, California Associate for Kern county attended the ACSA meeting. California Consulting is the largest grant writing company in the State.

Adam Rush New Grant Writer

AdamAdam Rush received his Bachelors of Arts from Claremont McKenna College in Government and Political Philosophy and a Masters Degree in American Politics from Claremont Graduate University. Mr. Rush is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), the American Planning Association (APA), and Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP). Mr. Rush’s land use and environmental career began at the County of Riverside Planning Department in 2003, where he served ten years and left to join private practice in 2013. In addition, Mr. Rush participated in the grassroots incorporation effort for the Eastvale Incorporation and was honored to serve as the first Mayor for the City of Eastvale in 2010. Mr. Rush now serves as a member of the Eastvale City Council. Mr. Rush lives in the community of Eastvale with his wife and three children.

Greg Pettis

Greg Pettis is a Senior Associate for Southern California. Mr. Pettis serves Southern California with an emphasis on Riverside County, Imperial County, and the Coachella Valley.

Since 1994 Mr. Pettis has been an elected City Councilmember for the City of Cathedral City. He has been a member of the National League of Cities since 1999 and has served on the board from 2013 – 2015.

Mr. Pettis has been a member of the League of California Cities since 1999 and has served on the League of California Cities Board of Directors from 2010 – 2016. Mr. Pettis has been involved with the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) since 1999. He served as 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice-President. and  SCAG President. SCAG is the largest regional transportation organization in the nation.

Mr. Pettis is the current Chairman of the Transportation Committee for the Coachella Valley Association of Governments and has been on the Executive Committee since 2000. He served as a Governing Board Member for the Riverside County Transportation Commission since 1999 and served as Chairman in 2011. From 2009 to 2013 Pettis was a member of the Southern California Regional Rail Authority, (Metrolink, So. Cal’s Commuter rail service).

Mr. Pettis holds a B.A. from Azusa Pacific University, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and is a 2005 graduate of the League of California Cities Mayors and Councilmembers Academy. In 2007, Pettis graduated from the Senior Executives in State and Local Government program at the Kennedy School at Harvard and in 2012 he attended the Executive Education program in Public Policy at the Price School at USC.
