Hermosa Beach, “The Best Little Beach City”, is a small city of only 1.43 square miles. The town is the quintessential view of Southern California lifestyle, with temperatures from high 77 degrees in the summer to 67 degrees in the winter. There are many different regular outdoor activities such as volleyball, surfboarding, skateboarding, and boogie boarding to name a few. There are architecturally diverse residences on the Strand, bungalows scattered throughout the town, and multilevel homes in the hills with ocean views. The City has police and fire departments, a skate park, green belt, community theater, and senior center.

This lively beach city is also well known for its entertainment offerings including live music from rock to blues to jazz. Festivals and special events abound on weekends. The three-day weekends of Memorial Day and Labor Day bring thousands of visitors to the Fiesta Hermosa street fair, which has been a tradition for many years, features hundreds of crafters and artists and live bands. In addition, Hermosa Beach is well known for its many tasty and diverse restaurants.

Hermosa Beach is within a few minutes commute of many of the largest and best known names in corporate America in such fields as aerospace, high tech, industrial, service and financial.

California Consulting Welcomes John Hoy as our Newest Associate – San Diego County

John Hoy has a national reputation for running successful, high profile public affairs campaigns. Hoy specializes in strategic and tactical planning for corporations, trade associations and non-profit organizations. He has also directed innovative public affairs campaigns for private-sector clients.
Hoy’s successful management of many of the most prominent recent campaigns in the area has resulted in very strong ties to San Diego County’s elected officials and community leaders. Hoy worked closely with San Diego’s veteran community in directing the successful effort to preserve Miramar as a Marine Corps Air Station. In addition to his vast experience in nonpartisan races, Hoy held a number of senior political positions.

Hoy, a native of Southern California, lives in San Diego with his family.

The goal of the SAFER Grant Program is to assist local fire departments with staffing and deployment capabilities in order to respond to emergencies, and assure that communities have adequate protection from fire and fire-related hazards. SAFER intends to improve or restore local fire departments’ staffing and deployment capabilities so they may more effectively and safely respond to emergencies. With enhanced or restored staffing levels, recipients should experience a reduction in response times and an increase in the number of trained personnel assembled at the incident scene.

California Consulting Hosts 1st Quarter – Quarterly Grant Teleconference Series “Prop 1. and How to Access Water Bond Grant Dollars”

Department of Water Resources Water board cA 1On March 8, 2016 California Consulting organized a briefing for our clients regarding the Prop. 1 water bond. Special guests on the call included senior representatives from the State Water Resources Control Board and the California Department of Wat‎er Resources. Representatives from approximately 30 cities, water districts, and other public agencies participated in the briefing. The purpose of the briefing was to discuss the Prop. 1 water bond and the billions of dollars available in grant programs.  The call included an informative discussion as well as questions and answers from call participants.   California Consulting, LLC is the state’s largest grant writing company. California Consulting grant writers have written more than 700 competitive federal, state,and private foundation grant applications that have been awarded for our clients since 2004.
