The goal of the SAFER Grant Program is to assist local fire departments with staffing and deployment capabilities in order to respond to emergencies, and assure that communities have adequate protection from fire and fire-related hazards. SAFER intends to improve or restore local fire departments’ staffing and deployment capabilities so they may more effectively and safely respond to emergencies. With enhanced or restored staffing levels, recipients should experience a reduction in response times and an increase in the number of trained personnel assembled at the incident scene.

California Consulting Hosts 1st Quarter – Quarterly Grant Teleconference Series “Prop 1. and How to Access Water Bond Grant Dollars”

Department of Water Resources Water board cA 1On March 8, 2016 California Consulting organized a briefing for our clients regarding the Prop. 1 water bond. Special guests on the call included senior representatives from the State Water Resources Control Board and the California Department of Wat‎er Resources. Representatives from approximately 30 cities, water districts, and other public agencies participated in the briefing. The purpose of the briefing was to discuss the Prop. 1 water bond and the billions of dollars available in grant programs.  The call included an informative discussion as well as questions and answers from call participants.   California Consulting, LLC is the state’s largest grant writing company. The Water Replenishment District’s mission is to provide, protect and preserve high-quality groundwater through innovative, cost-effective and environmentally sensitive basin management practices for the benefit of residents and businesses of the Central and West Coast Basins.


With the continual population increase of the region, it becomes even more important to maximize the use of both imported and local water sources available to the WRD.

The WRD manages groundwater for nearly four million residents in 43 cities of southern Los Angeles County . The 420 square mile service area uses about 250,000 acre-feet of groundwater per year, which equates to nearly 40% of the total demand for water. The WRD ensures that a reliable supply of high quality groundwater is available through its clean water projects, water supply programs, and effective management principles.
